Fancy giving Ballroom a go but never quite known where to start? This friendly class is your chance to learn the basics, refine your technique, have some fun, and discover the joy of dancing with a partner, without any previous experience needed.
You’ll explore a mix of classic Ballroom styles, learning simple steps, rhythms and routines through a combination of solo and partner work. You’ll build your confidence, coordination and musicality while getting to grips with the fundamentals of partner dancing in a relaxed, supportive environment.
This class will cover the Ballroom dance, encompassing all five standard dance styles. Each style features a "two-stage progressive" mini course consisting of two tiered lessons. The difficulty increases gradually, helping students build a comprehensive understanding of Ballroom and Latin dance step-by-step and explore its unique charm.
You don’t need to bring a partner and everyone is welcome! You can come along on your own, with a friend, or with a partner, and you’ll have opportunities to dance with different people throughout the class. Our partnerships are open to all genders and gender identities, including women, men, non-binary and gender-diverse dancers, and you are free to choose whether you lead, follow or enjoy exploring both roles.
Whether you're dancing in a same-gender partnership, a mixed-gender partnership, or simply want to come along and meet people, there’s no expectation that your gender determines which role you should take. Lead and follow roles are open to everyone, so you can dance in the way that feels most comfortable and enjoyable for you.

REFUND POLICY:
Non-refundable at point of sale. Attendees can transfer their own ticket with more than 24hrs before the class commences and are restricted to 1 transfer per booking.
A 2.5% booking fee applies to bookings with a cost.

PARKING: Free Evening and Weekend Parking is available in the complex. Monday – Friday 9-5pm – We have a limited number of permit passes. Please check beforehand if these will be available for use. Free On Street Parking is available for 4hrs on Cherry Row and there is also reasonably priced on street parking on Macaulay Street and Mabgate, operated via an app called ‘Ring Go’ (no cash payments).
