Refine your sewing skills and step into the world of accessory making by creating your own stylish, everyday shoulder bag.
Whether you’ve sewn garments before or are a complete beginner, this is an essential project for any young designer. Understanding how bags are constructed is a brilliant foundation skill and opens up a whole new area of fashion design beyond clothing.
Students will learn how to:
Sew panels together accurately
Attach fabric or leather straps
Add metal clasps and hardware
Insert a zip
Create and sew in a lining (inner fabric)
These are highly transferable skills used in professional fashion and accessory design.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a durable, well-finished shoulder bag designed to be worn every day and made to last.
You can choose to make your bag from fabric or leather and customise it to suit your own style — it doesn’t have to be leopard print like the image shown!
Please note: Tickets are available to book up until 2 days before the event starts.
Bookings cannot be made within 48 hours of the event, as we need time to plan our workshops and confirm our freelance tutors.
We kindly ask that you book as far in advance as possible — it really helps us organise everything and ensure there are enough materials for everyone.
Level: Beginner Friendly, Mixed Ability
We provide all equipment and materials.
Please bring with you a refillable water bottle and a light snack/lunch.
