People of all abilities are welcome. While the course is designed to build beginner skills, teaching is tailored to individual experience and confidence.
Classes take place in a studio space designed specifically for teaching these sessions.
Over the first 4–5 weeks you will cover core techniques including wheel-throwing, hand-building, mould work, decorating and glazing. After this, you’ll be encouraged to develop your own projects with guidance from the teacher and the group.
This course will be led by Manuel, a ceramicist, visual artist and illustrator whose practice centres on thrown and altered sculptural ceramics combined with hand-built elements. Strong on both the wheel and in sculptural work, he brings a thoughtful, creative approach to teaching informed by his exhibiting practice and studio experience.
In the event of illness or annual leave, one of our other experienced teachers would lead the session in his place.
The cost of a 12-week course in Peckham is £395. Materials, glazing and firing are charged at £5 per kg of finished work (for example, a teacup is approximately £1).
All 12-week course participants have booking access to optional drop-in sessions, offering additional studio time outside class hours - ideal for those who would like extra practice without committing to full membership.
If you miss a class or arrive late, we are unable to reschedule sessions or provide alternative studio time, as courses run at fixed times to cover the cost of tuition.
Refunds:
Cancellations made 20 days or more before the start date receive a full refund (minus a £5 booking fee). Between 20 and 10 days before the start date, 50% of fees will be refunded (minus booking fee). No refunds are available within 9 days of the start date or once the course has begun.

Unit 3 is opposite the bar 'SOCIAL' and has a mural on the wall outside. There's 2 entrances and the teaching space is the far entrance to the right when you arrive, but we'll have signage directing you.

The studio is 200 meters from Peckham Rye station. As well as the Overground it’s only 11 minutes from London Bridge or 12 minutes from Victoria by train.
There are also plenty of bus routes: 12, 37, 63, 78, 197, 343, 363, N63, N343, P12 and P13.
