Babies gain so much from being outside and having time and a safe space to explore the natural world. However it’s sometimes hard to know how to let your baby play outside and keep them happy and safe. Nature Babies is designed to support babies explore and play outside and gain all those important benefits for their health and development.
Nature Babies also supports new parents by giving you a space to socialise and make new friends, encouraging you to spend time outside in fresh air, and giving you some ideas about how to support your baby playing outside.
What you’ll find at Nature Babies:
🌸Heuristic play with safe natural objects
💦Sensory play including with water when it’s warm
🪵physical challenges such as climbing, pulling to stand and crawling on different surfaces
👩👦👨👧time to have giggly fun together in the hammock and swings
🌳🌻🌱a calm, peaceful environment
🐞lots of wildlife to discover
☕️tea, coffee and biscuits/cake for adults
🎶group song time
Nature Babies is designed for pre-walking babies. Babies that are crawling, sitting, rolling or lying will all be catered for. If your baby is just finding their feet they are still welcome as this stage sometimes lasts a while! If they’re confidently walking they’ll have more fun at our Nature Tots group.
This is an outdoor group meeting in most weathers. Please dress yourself and your baby appropriately for the weather.
We have plenty of shade at the garden but please bring a hat and sun cream for your baby if it is forecast to be hot and sunny weather.
If it’s raining or the ground is wet your baby will be comfortable in an all in one puddle suit.
Even if it’s hot, I’d recommend your baby wears long trousers to protect crawling knees.
Please bring your own water bottle and a drink for your baby. If you wish to have tea or coffee (supplied) please bring a closed reusable cup with you.
