SUMMER SKATE SCHEME
The Skate Society and Lodge Skatepark are happy to announce a special week of skateboarding arts and culture at our indoor community space and skatepark.
Running from Monday, 31st of July to Friday the 4th August, we 16 spaces available for kids aged between 8 to 13 yrs old.
Whether you are new to skateboarding or want to develop and hone your skills, this scheme is the perfect place to practice, learn and progress in a safe and inclusive environment.
Led by long-time skaters Ben English & Pete Hellicar, the skate scheme will consist of zine making, developing skateboard graphics, and film making alongside plenty of skateboarding and shredding.

We take skaters from ages 8 to 16 and teach the techniques
you need to enjoy learning to skateboard confidently.
The Techniques we focus on are:
1: Pushing
2: Foot Position
3: Body Position
4: Turning and Carving
5: Kick Turns
6: Ollies
7: Stopping
8: Falling
These eight techniques are at the heart of skating and will
enable the rider to increase their confidence, explore skate
terrain and have a solid foundation from which to build.
If you have a skateboard then please bring it. We do have boards at the park and can lend you one if need be. Please bring your own helmet. A bike helmet is fine. Pads are optional but advised if you have them. See you soon.

All skaters must sign a waiver before any lessons. Helmets are essential for all riders. Pads are optional, but we recommend their use.
