Scent Detection Workshop with Kat Serafina

Join us for a unique scent detection workshop with Kat Serafina from Canine Detection Solutions.

The workshop is suitable for dogs (including fearful or reactive dogs) at any level of obedience and scentwork experience, from beginners to professional search dogs.

With dogs embarking on their scent detection journey we will focus on teaching them to use their nose, motivation development and instilling indication training.

For those with prior experience we will adjust content to the individual but can further develop skills including searching, proofing indication, behaviour around the handler and more.

Kat has a master’s degree in both Psychology and Applied Animal Behaviour, a COAPE diploma and is an APDT trainer.
She has worked at Scent Imprint for Dogs in Holland training detection dogs and delivering Instructor courses. Since she moved to the UK she has worked for Dogs Trust as a Head Coach and Coach Trainer, in 2018 she worked at Dog Detectives on a FREDDS (free running explosives detection dogs) project.
She has a company Canine Detection Solutions that provides a service of Japanese knotweed detection dogs and currently works two operational dogs.
Through her company K9 Behaviour consultancy she delivers training to government organisations, private detection companies and pet owners.
