🌄 Overview
A long summer weekend in the southwest of Ireland, built around dramatic ridgelines, iconic peaks, and the camaraderie that only a shared mountain adventure can create. Over four days, you’ll explore some of Kerry’s most spectacular terrain — from the rugged MacGillycuddy’s Reeks to the legendary Coomloughra Horseshoe — with transport and accommodation taken care of so you can focus on the journey.
📅 Event Description
Thursday – Meet in Killarney
Arrive in Killarney and gather with the group for introductions, gear checks, and a relaxed evening in town. This is your chance to settle in, where everyone has a Guinness while meeting the other hikers on the weekend.
Friday – Curraghbeg to Caher West Top & Caher
Our first full day on the hills begins with a scenic walk from Curraghbeg, climbing steadily toward Caher West Top and Caher, two of Ireland’s highest summits. Expect sweeping views across the Reeks and a rewarding ridge walk that sets the tone for the weekend.
Saturday – The Coomloughra Horseshoe
The highlight of the trip. The Coomloughra Horseshoe is one of Ireland’s most iconic mountain circuits, taking in Caher, Carrauntoohil, and Beenkeragh in a dramatic loop above the Coomloughra lakes. A challenging but unforgettable day for experienced hikers who love big days in the hills.
Sunday – Fly Home
A relaxed morning before transfers to the airport. After three days of adventure, you’ll head home tired, happy, and carrying memories of some of Ireland’s finest mountain scenery.
