Unfurl Journeys with Sound

I was trained by ANSU School of Sound in the Borders (Now SoundSphere Scotland) in 2019, gaining a distinction in Creative and Therapeutic Sound for Communities. I run regular events across various venues in Fife, and have a beautiful ‘unfurling’ studio from home, where I host new moon circles, 1:1 sessions and small group work.

I mostly use Tibetan singing bowls, kochi wind chimes, rainstick and my voice to create a serene landscape of sound to unwind.
My sessions come from a heart centred, gentle and intuitive place, where people feel safe and welcome to unravel and soften their edges from a harsh external world.
I invite people to come home to themselves, to ground, and to feel stillness in their minds and hearts; creating space for insight, release, and healing to occur. All are welcome to come unfurl with me, whether they are completely new to this or not.

I found my voice and musical journey during a particularly poignant and painful time; where I was lucky enough to take refuge off grid; living in a log cabin in South Lanarkshire for over a year. Here I was able to connect to nature, myself and emotions, and to others around the fireside.

I discovered sound healing to be a huge comfort in my life, and a place where I could just turn up as I was, lay down, and unfurl.
Memories, trapped emotion, pain and energy could be shifted, and I felt deeply restored, soothed and relaxed afterwards. I wanted to be able to offer this to others, and am humbled to have been able to do this.

My travels have taken me back to India several times since my 20's, inspiring me deeply, and infusing my sound healing style with a more sacred and spiritual essence.
I love to use my shruti box and most recently my harmonium, to create sacred soundscapes and mantras.
More recently, I have been running kirtan events, where people gather to connect to themselves, to others, and to feel joy and love in their hearts. It's a beautiful, simple and devotional practice to still the mind and unfurl the heart.

The following benefits of sound healing have often been noted widely, but this is definitely not an exhaustive list:

~ promote healing on an emotional, physical and mental level
~ lower the brainwave states, which gives a feeling of deep rest and
can aid in better sleep
~ give relief to stress, emotional imbalance, anxiety, low mood
relieve pain and tension in the body
~ stimulates physiological immunity
~ remove stuck energies that cause exhaustion. Sound reaches
deep into the cellular level (where experience, memories,
emotions get stored), to renew balance
~ calm the body’s natural response system and hyper-arousal,
giving an overworked nervous system a break
~ lower blood pressure and cholesterol
~ improve focus and mental clarity

And here are some benefits of the traditional Indian practice of Kirtan:

~ can help train our arousal system and emotional regulation for supporting your nervous system
~ singing together synchronises the heartbeats of those with you, creating deep connection, unity and harmony
~ can assist you in connecting to the divine within you
~ can put you into a meditative state for more receptivity and calm
~ purifies your feelings and emotions from negative into more positive states
~ helps to bring about an opening, a shift or a release from any stuck energy or thought pattern
~ creates a feeling of ‘bringing yourself back home’
~ helping you to move into your truest, natural state of bliss
