Walk, Talk & Posie Making at Amisfield Walled Garden with Ruth Alder

Join us for a gentle and inspiring afternoon with Ruth Alder, Flowersmith at the beautiful Amisfield Walled Garden.

We’ll begin with a guided walk and talk, as Ruth shares the fascinating history of the garden and how it’s now lovingly run for the benefit of the local community. As well as growing all the blooms in the cutting garden, Ruth helps support the work of Amisfield, a charity that receives proceeds from posie sales and events like this one.

Ruth will demonstrate how to create a simple yet stunning jam jar posie using freshly picked, seasonal flowers. She’ll share practical tips and tricks for sustainable flower arranging, and you’ll get to create your own to take home. As well as demonstrating posie making Ruth will also how us how to create a simple but stunning boat vase and button hole.

All materials are provided, and Ruth will also be offering a refreshing drink and a nibble to keep us going.
