A three day snowshoeing trip based in the Saastal valley.
Surrounded by 18 4000m peaks this famous resort is a visual feast for the eyes.
With stunning forest trails leading to high meadow pastures, open vistas and cable cars for ease, the snowshoeing routes here will leave you hungry for more in the future
You do not need any experience for this trip, skills will be taught for those who are first time.
Snowshoeing is essentially winter hiking. Snow depths are too much to be able to walk across the Alps, therefore using specially designed shoes fixing to our boots enables us to 'float' across the snow.
The days will be relaxed, on gentle trails learning to master the shoes whilst exercising new muscles we may have forgotten existed 😅
This trip will give three full days out with Hayley, who is a Qualified International mountain leader, trained specifically to take snowshoeing excursions. With travel, you need to allow five days altogether. Saas isn't the quickest place to get to, but with the valley surrounded by 4000m peaks and cute shops to peruse who wouldn't want to visit, especially in winter.
Accommodation is shared, with twin rooms in a self catered apartment. Breakfast is provided, we can shop to gather lunch items and choose whether to cook dinner in or eat out.
Breakfast is included and provided by the accommodation. Lunch, dinner, drinks and extras are to be paid for.
Please be aware, payments made for this trip are not refundable due to the time scale and close upcoming dates. Be very sure you are able to book and commit. 😀

Travel to Geneva. Flights are around £200 with a 15k luggage in the hold.
From there a train to visp with a bus to Saas Grund, taking around 3.5 hours. The cost is roughly £75 for the return journey.
You will require -
Warm trousers/leggings for trekking in ×1
Waterproof bottoms and top
Thermal base layer top. ×2
Mid layer - fleece, gilet, primaloft ×1
Outer layer - down jacket, ski jacket
Socks ×3
Underwear
Comfortable boots- hiking boots are fine, they don't have to be special, but think warmth. I'm using winter B2 boots.
Walking poles with ski baskets - essential
Sunglasses (you may have ski goggles for sunny conditions or both)
Suncream
Hat
Gloves - two pairs minimum thick and thin
Spare layer in case of cold

Rucksack. This must fit your spare layers, lunch and have room to fit a small shovel and probe inside for avalanche safety. I use a 35 litre which just fits as larger hand luggage on easy jet. But - poles often have to go in the hold.
Travel Costs are not included in the price.
Cable car costs £130 roughly.
Hayley will meet you in Saas Grund at the bus stop.
