Via Ferrata - Latin for Iron Road. A route up and through the mountains with the use of metal cables, ladders, steps and bridges. Initially built in the Italian Dolomites during war times, this way of travel soon be came an adventurous playtime for outdoor enthusiats.
Via ferrata Extreme at Honister Slate Mine is the best way to introduce yourself to this great sport and experience the dizzying heights of Honister crag.
Ladders, wire bridges, exposed climbing, cables and stunning landscapes all whilst safely attached make this an experience you won't forget.

Please wear clothing suitable for being in the outdoor mountain environment. This activity does run in inclement weather.
Waterproof top and bottoms

Thin fitted gloves
A warm layer that is easily removable if you get too hot.
You can carry a small rucksack but it is advisable not to, especially if this is your first time.
There is a café at Honister where you can get refreshments afterwards.
The boring but important stuff...
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age is 10, with a height restriction of 1.3m.
Please ensure you arrive on time, Honister run a very strict time schedule, therefore we must be clipping on at the designated time slot. Late arrivals will miss this activity.
Please note. There is no signal at Honister, therefore it is advised you contact me at least 45 minutes prior to meeting time if you are running late.
