Luxury Mountain and Loch Activity Week - Strathcarron

A weeks guided mountain walking, scrambling and climbing.
Paddleboard trips on the sea.
Based in Strathcarron we have access to some of the finest mountain and climbs in Scotland...maybe the UK. Being a stones throw from Applecross and Torridon the possibilities are endless for a really exciting week.

There are options for multi pitch climbing with Bryan Wakeley - a super experienced Mountaineering and climbing instructor and all round ace chappy. Liathach traverse or the Cioch Nose are nearby. This is your chance to get on them.... all whilst enjoying the finer things in life after your day.

Big Munro days for those not ready to dangle around just yet, with some lovely scrambling and walking. Parts of the Cape Wrath Trail for lower alternatives should the weather be silly.

Paddleboarding - Have you paddled at sea? Seals swimming around you? This is the chance, we have a lovely route paddling across the bay to Plockton - a wonderful seaside fishing village with palm trees. Here a pub lunch and either paddle back - catch the train - or stay for a few bevvies and we will come pick you up!

Luxurious accommodation and stunning views to enjoy, all whilst your evening meal is prepared and served up.
The week is based at New Lodge, Strathcarron. A fairly new lodge (hence the name) built in 2009, but with the intention of upholding the surroundings and Scottish traditional style. There isn't just the house.... We have tennis courts, river side access for a dip in the pools and fishing, as well as a huge games room with sofas, large tv, pool and table tennis. All there for your amusement for the entire week. This place is simply fabulous.

Even better, no washing up required.. just relaxing with a full belly and a movie in the games room or, just sit watching the deer on the private grounds we have to ourselves.

A short stroll away is the river for wildlife watching, wild swimming, or following to the pub!

Now then, you may be of the mind that you don't do hiking, scrambling or activities of the such. But you may wish to join your partner whilst they get their fix on the hills or paddleboards whilst you are hosted, relaxed and fed... with no household chores to do. There is Strathcarron weavers to visit with their exquisite tartans. The train passes nearby for the most stunning views, we could drop you off for a journey.

This really is a holiday..... with some mountains thrown in for good measure.

There is a special rate for couples joining for full activities, and a special rate for partners joining to just enjoy the house and catering without partaking in activities.

Accommodation is on a shared basis - unless you request a room to yourself. The bedrooms are king-size beds with en-suite facilities in each room. There are a couple of twin rooms, you may find yourself sharing with someone of the same sex, but there will only be 2 people per room, we endeavour to have people in their own rooms subject to demand.

There are 12 Places available for this trip (with the addition to that number for any couples)

There will be;

Breakfast - selection of cereals, fruits, yoghurts and full cooked Scottish Bfast options
Lunches - we will take an order from you each evening, your lunch will be made and ready for
you to take with you. If you are staying, you will be able to have lunch at your leisure
with some warm options available.
Dinner - Main hearty meals with a variety throughout the week and deserts.

One evening there will be a cheese and port/wine night. 🧀🍷

Movie night with popcorn and all the paraphernalia that goes with going to the movies 🍿😂🎥

Throughout the week we will have freshly made cakes/scones and traybakes ready for you to munch after activities or throughout the day when it suits. 🍰

Evening meals will be served with one glass of alcohol - wine/beer/G&T to your preference. Non alcoholic drinks will be available for those who do not wish to drink. 🍺🍷

Dietary requirements can be catered for.
