The Coledale Round towers over Keswick as it comes into view from the A66 driving in.
As Lakeland walks go, the Coledale Round is a big one – a long walk over the high fells surrounding the glacial valley of Coledale. If you happen to be a serial Wainwright 'bagger', then this is the walk for you. There are some favourites in here; such as Grisedale Pike and Grasmoor, but some of the lesser peaks may well surprise you.
Several peaks in the range are optional and the overall route can be varied depending upon your preference, so please have a chat with me at the time of booking.
This route tackles what I would consider to be the full round plus a bit, hence the time of year for it.
The route has a mix of steep ascents, crags and pleasant grassy slopes while the views are superb throughout.

Please meet by the little church at Braithwaite. Parking is limited, you may need to park elsewhere and walk to the meeting point.
You MUST bring the following;
Rucksack 20-30l
Hydration bladder or bottle with 2 litre of fluid
Gloves
Hat
Warm layer (fleece or primaloft)
Waterproof jacket AND trousers
Lunch and snacks
You MAY also/alternatively bring;
Walking Poles
Sunhat
Flask

Head torch (depending time of year)

This route should be walked wearing walking boots, or very good mountain approach shoes. trainers are not suitable for this walk.
