Details

All levels from complete beginner to highly experienced are very welcome at the studio on all classes.

There are two teachers present per class, with up to sixteen students in total. The classes run by terms, which work around school holidays, providing morning, afternoon and evening sessions.

The cost of all courses includes teaching, tools, equipment, studio space and refreshments. Please note that in addition to this class fee, any items you make will be weighed and charged for per 100g to cover the materials and firing costs. As a guideline, this might amount to around £50/term depending how much you make.

Absolute beginners will be taken hands-on through a range of techniques by a teacher over the first 5-6 weeks. We will teach various aspects of ceramics hand building, and a range of decorating and glazing techniques. This is to ensure that you are able to experience all methods and will be rewarded by taking some beautifully hand-built and designed pieces away with you over the first half term. Then you will be able to branch out into other projects.

More experienced potters will have plenty of freedom to explore their particular interests. Please note though that out classes are not intended for prolific or production potters.

We have 9 wheels to share, so you should be prepared to do a mix of throwing and handbuilding if necessary, so that everyone in the class gets a fair chance on the wheel.

The Half Term break is week commencing 17th February.
