All levels from beginner to experienced are very welcome at the studio on all classes. We teach various aspects of ceramics from hand building, sculpture, throwing on the wheel, and a range of decorating and glazing techniques. This is to ensure that you are able to experience all methods and will be rewarded by taking some beautifully hand-built and designed pieces away with you at the end of the course.
There are two teachers present per class. The classes run by terms, which work around school holidays, providing morning, afternoon and evening sessions. The cost of all courses includes teaching, tools, equipment, studio space and refreshments. In addition, any items you make will be weighed and charged for to cover the materials and firing costs.
Absolute beginners will be taken hands-on through a range of basic techniques by a teacher over the first five or six weeks. And then you will be able to branch out into other projects.
More experienced potters will have plenty of freedom to explore their particular interests.
