This ticket is split into AM and PM sessions at our brand new funnel hide in Oakham. If you wish to do a full day then you must book both the AM & PM tickets and the total cost for this is £180 (not £260)
Unlike some of our other hides this hide doesn’t have heating or tea/coffee making facilities. There is a basic toilet system inside the hide which upon booking you'll receive more info about this system in the confirmation email.
During the winter (October - April) the start time will be 30mins before sunrise. Confirmation of the meet time will be sent prior to the day but a google search will tell you this time on any given day of the year for reference. Finish time is last light and we strongly recommend staying in the hide until this time as typically hares are active in the morning and evening so leaving early you'll be leaving before they start moving again.
During the summer the AM start time has to be dawn which obviously in June can be as early as 4am with the finish time being noon. For the PM sessions we recommend a 2pm start and to see the session through until last light.
Some things to remember to bring with you to make the most of your time in the hide. We are supplying a plate and beanbag in the hide - you'll need to bring a gimbal or ball head with you. If its a winter session then wrap up warm with gloves and hat as the hide is NOT heated. If you own 2 cameras then it is certainly worth bringing both as there are 2 aspects to shoot from. Zoom lenses will give you the most flexibility - there is no set distance the hares will be at so difficult for us to say a best lens for the hide.
