A low-demand drop-in opportunity to see how our Teen Hub feels.
For neurodivergent and anxious teens (and their parents / carers) who are looking for peers and community.
A kind, creative space for teens to connect, share interests, and feel at home. Meet others who understand, try new things at your own pace, build friendships in your own time.
Who we’re for: Teens who don’t fit in mainstream school, specialist provision, or both — including those who are neurodivergent, anxious, or simply thrive in different spaces.
What we offer: A safe, creative community with structured opportunities and free-flow space.
Our approach: Built on PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) and emotional literacy.
Our goal: Help young people find belonging, build skills, and discover their next steps.
Please see attached documents.
General Information for All Sessions
Parents & carers: Our groups are designed for young people to attend with their parent or carer. You’ll stay on site throughout, sharing the space in a way that feels comfortable for both of you. Some gradually step back as trust builds, but there’s no expectation or pressure.
Food & drink: free hot drinks & squash available. You’re also welcome to bring your own.
What to bring: We provide a variety of games and activities with young people and families encouraged to tell us what they would like. If your young person has a favourite game, device, baking or craft project etc, they’re welcome to bring it along - to do solo or to invite others.
Environment: Dormans has indoor and outdoor spaces, with access to toilets and quiet corners for regulation. Sessions follow a predictable but flexible rhythm, shaped to the group on the day.
Our approach: We use PACE communication (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy), which means everything is invitational, respectful, and low-demand. This helps young people and adults alike feel safe, understood, and able to join in at their own pace.
Safeguarding: All staff and volunteers are DBS-checked, safeguarding trained, and part of our policy framework.
