Our Pelvic Floor muscles need training. The Pelvic Floor supports almost every movement we make, yet we can only optimise our movements when we work on our awareness of our Pelvic Floor and actively take control of its health.
The Pelvic Floor provides support to all the internal organs that sit within the pelvis.
Our Pelvis can become misaligned, with slight twists or tilts and/or fixed due to tensions, poor posture or inhibition of movement caused by injuries.
The goals of this workshop are to build up our awareness of these deep muscles and improve both their flexibility and their strength. As you develop better body-perception your overall posture will naturally start to improve.
We need to be able to contract and relax our muscles, and allow an ease of movement in the connective tissues and ligaments in small yet highly effective ways. Once we start to understand this way of working we can slowly build up various exercises and including several methods into our practice.
The approach we will take with this Pelvic Floor Awareness Workshop will encapsulate the whole element of the Pelvis and the Pelvic Floor. The Pelvic Floor is not one muscle, it is a collection of muscles, tendons and nerves, interwoven into the base of our pelvic area. There are 3 layers of muscles they are attached to the front, back and base of the area.
The 2 hour workshop will introduce you to working more closely with you Pelvis. The problems that occur, which can include incontinence, other urinary problems, an over active bladder, faecal urgency, prolapse (in various forms) pelvic girdle pain, lower back pain, and various other elements.
Please wear casual clothes which are easy to move in, with layers to accommodate how you feel.

We provide mats, head cushions and various other supports however you are more than welcome to bring your own if you would prefer.
