Printing from Life on The Shore with Clare Henderson

Details

A full day printing workshop for participants interested in gaining experience using a printing press and recycled materials to make Tetrapak drypoints.
We will begin at Work Shop with Clare showing you some drawing systems and techniques and displaying the Tetrapak drypoint process. Then, as a group, we will venture out towards the shore to document maritime elements of Bantry that we will later translate into print. If the weather is against us we will stay at Work Shop and draw and make prints from marine objects and pictures Clare has collected.

Clare Henderson is an award winning visual artist specializing in painting and printmaking, with a profound focus on land and sea themes.

In 2005, she was honoured with The Graphic Studio Graduate Award and membership for Graphic Studio Dublin, and was recognised with the printmaking award at The RHA Annual Summer Exhibition in 2017. She received her masters degree in Fine Art earlier this year and has recently set up a printmaking studio space in Clifden, where she lives. Clare’s artworks have found a permanent place in the collections of prestigious institutions like The National Gallery of Ireland, The National Library, The Law Library, and The Office of Public Works and you can find her pieces displayed in Dublin’s Graphic Studio Gallery and SO Fine Art Editions.
