RYA Youth Sailing (2/3) - Next Steps Sailing

Wembley Sailing Club is offering an exciting programme of sailing courses for young people.

Working towards RYA Stages 3, this course teaches sailors everything they need to know to launch, rig and sail a single-handed dinghy independently in all directions. It is a brilliant intermediary course between Stages 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 for sailors who feel they haven't had enough practice or want to recap Stage 2 again before going onto Stage 3.

Our courses are focused on Safe, Fun and Learning! We incorporate the RYA Onboard scheme into our sailing programmes, backed by research to improve confidence, intuition and teamwork skills, helping children to thrive both on and off the water.

Our sessions are led by fully qualified, DBS-checked instructors, who create a safe and supportive environment where your child can explore their potential, build resilience, and make lasting friendships.

Assumed knowledge Can sail to RYA Stage 1 standard or have completed a higher qualification but have not sailed recently and need a refresher.

RYA Stage 2 content Basic sailing skills, tacking, controlling boat speed, rope-work and collision avoidance.

RYA Stage 3 content Rigging, launching and recovery, sailing techniques, capsize recovery and sailing theory.

All courses run from 09:30 to 16:30.
