LIVE-STREAM: Yoga For Peace Charity Event

Thank you for joining this special Zoom event: Yoga For Peace

At 10am Saturday 13th July, simultaneous yoga events will take place across the country to unite people in a shared message of peace and hope for those affected by war and personal conflict.

Together we will practice gentle yoga, chanting, and peaceful meditation.

I invite you to create a cosy, peaceful space in which to cocoon yourself for our practice together. Light a candle, gather up some pillows and blankets, switch off your devices and close the doors/curtains on any external distractions. This sacred time is just for you, your body, your breath, your heart.

Your class will be live-streamed on zoom, and you will receive a unique Zoom link 30 minutes before class starts. Please login for your class at least 5 minutes beforehand to prepare for the class to start.

I invite you to use props during the class to assist in personalising your practice so it's a good idea to gather the following before we start. It's great if you have yoga props, but don't worry if you don't as you can improvise:

2 x yoga bricks / 2 x similar size hard-back books
Yoga bolster / 2 X PILLOWS
Blanket

Hints and tips for an enjoyable online experience:

When you join, your camera may not be showing to begin with, so I encourage you to click the ‘start video’ button.

During the class please mute your microphone otherwise it is difficult for others to hear the teacher’s instructions.

If you have an injury, arrive in the Zoom room 10 minutes early to tell me about it through the private chat function.

Clear the space as best you can, moving furniture to the side so that you have room to practise safely. Please practice within your own range of movement and ability, and knowing you can draw back from any discomfort and rest at any time.
