As the vibrant energy of summer fades and autumn ushers in a season of transition, it’s the perfect time to unblock and softly recharge different parts of our energetic body. Join us for an immersive experience with chakra-based and Toroidal breathwork and yin yoga.
What are chakras? The word ‘chakra’ originated from Sanskrit and literally means ‘wheel’. Often depicted along the spine, chakras are spinning vortexes of energy and exist in the subtle or energetic body. They radiate energy in their respective regions and relate to spiritual, emotional, psychological and physical aspects of our being. When balanced and open, energy flows freely through the body, promoting well-being. When chakras are blocked or imbalanced, they can manifest as physical ailments, emotional disturbances, or mental blocks. It is possible to influence the energetic charge of chakras in several ways, including through movement and breath.
Make space to connect with your inner self - Autumn is the Metal phase in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is associated with the Lungs and the emotion of grief. Let go of what is no longer need, learning from past experiences and hardships and making space in your heart for what is to come.
With a combination of yin yoga and breathwork, release physical, mental and emotional tension as you restore balance and harmony to your energetic body. Long meditative yin yoga holds as well as potent chakra-based breathwork will aid regulation, increase mobility helping you to connect deeply with your inner self and ease into the cooler autumn season.
What to Expect
Yin yoga: Soften into postures designed to nourish tissues in the body, easing tightness and deeply held tension. Each pose is held for several minutes. Over time this helps you become more aware of how your mind and body responds, gradually increasing stillness and cultivating patience and self-kindness.
Chakra based breathing: Guided breathwork to ‘open’ the breath in the abdominal area, slow the pace down to a regular rhythm for a specific period of time before directing the breath with visualisations and in each of the seven primary chakras. The toroidal breath, also known as torus breathing, is a powerful technique used to propel breath energy in a torus shape around the body, designed to complement the shifts in chakra energy.
