Details

Scott Johnson, director of Stillpoint Yoga London, will guide you through a mindful and practical approach to ashtanga yoga that meets each practitioner exactly where they are.

Ashtanga Vinyasa practice sits at the heart of this weekend. Across three days we will move together through Mysore practice, pranayama, philosophy, and two afternoon workshops.

Whether you are new to this system or have been practising for years, the weekend is designed to support depth, inquiry, and a renewed sense of what practice can offer.

Workshop Schedule & Sessions

Friday 20th 7.00pm A Led Class

A guided Ashtanga practice to ease into the weekend together. A chance to arrive, settle, and meet the room.

Saturday 21st

9.00am – 11.30pm: Mysore, Pranayama and Mindfulness

Scott will create a space for inquiry, beginning each morning with sitting practice then pranayama. It is here that you will then meet your asana practice. Scott will assist you in developing and deepening your Ashtanga yoga self practice in the traditional Mysore style.

1.30 – 2.30pm: Philosophy:

The Practice of Letting Go: PataΓ±jali names two movements at the heart of practice: effort and release. This session explores what it means to bring both into the way we live and practise, on and off the mat.

2.45 – 4.15pm: Workshop: Inversions

Whenever the head goes below the heart, we become open to a new way of seeing. This workshop is an invitation to explore your own relationship with headstand, forearm balance, and handstand. We will look at techniques that support each posture and then invite practitioners to find their own way, with individual support throughout.

Sunday 22nd

9.00am – 11.30pm: Mysore, Pranayama and Mindfulness

Scott will create a space for inquiry, beginning each morning with sitting practice then pranayama. It is here that you will then meet your asana practice. Scott will assist you in developing and deepening your Ashtanga yoga self practice in the traditional Mysore style.

1.30 - 2.30pm: Philosophy:

Five Ways to Cultivate as You: Practice What develops in us through sustained practice? Drawing on the Yoga Sutras, this session explores five inner qualities, from faith to wisdom, that deepen the longer we stay on the path.

2.45 - 4.15pm: Workshop: Finding a Spacious Spine:

in the Primary and Intermediate Series The Primary and Intermediate Series offer profound opportunities to explore the subtleties of spinal movement. Beginning with a short mindfulness and breathing practice, this session looks at how spinal awareness develops in relation to breath, connecting postures from the second half of Primary through to Intermediate. We will explore the continuity and intelligence of the practice together. Open to all practitioners curious about deepening their understanding of the Ashtanga Vinyasa system.
