The Elemental Heart - Movement Medicine supported by Yoga
Resource and support for ourselves and each other in the vitality and tenderness of the Heart in Motion. The aim of this weekend is to strengthen our individual and collective care package during these times. To give space and a home in the moving body for the heart to breathe and be welcomed in all its weather.
Our Yoga practice, suitable for all levels, is an opportunity for deep embodiment & re-connection with the wise loving self, the core of our being, the one that knows how to move, breath & resource. During the Yogasana we will begin to awaken the dancer ready to make a smooth transition from the mat to the dance floor by grounding deep in the body & opening to grace.
Our Movement Medicine practice will be based in the elemental heart maps, learning to soften any edges, understand ourselves better and strengthen our resources there:
About your teachers:
Sarah Harlow is a qualified Movement Medicine teacher as well as a very experienced Yoga teacher and trainer, she is also a Transpersonal Therapist & Bodyworker - read more about her here. Sarah is passionate about the dance between MM & Yoga. Both are incredible disciplines in their own right & deeply complimentary. Yogasana offers us very specific opportunities to fully inhabit the body-mind-spirit. Precise ways to breathe life into & 'awaken the dancer', perhaps taking us out of our comfort zone & into places we may avoid in the dance! The invitation from both is to embody, empower & remember who we are in our divine essence.
Rosie Perks is a highly experienced movement facilitator and senior Movement Medicine teacher and professional mentor. She offers a space of safety that is expertly held, often including the emerging voice with movement. Her teaching is informed by a long relationship to dance and training in Processwork and Internal Family Systems, sitting alongside her understanding of, and care for our shared humanity. Read more about Rosie here.
"Rosie creates an incredibly safe space, which allows an expanse of self-discovery beyond what may be anticipated. She brings an authenticity and vulnerability in her facilitation. As such, a door is opened through which we can follow to explore the foundations of our own hearts." Jen Levin
Sarah & Rosie will also lean into other supporting modalities they have both trained in, to build a dancing village that welcomes and celebrates our diversity as well as our unity; in which we can learn about ourselves, each other and strengthen our connection to all that gives and supports life.
