Details

An invitation to dance the elements, awaken the alchemist within, and explore the art of embodied relationship.

Ancient wisdom lives in the body. It remembers that we are not separate from the natural world, we are Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether: they are living forces within us that shape how we move, relate, create, love and transform.

This course is an invitation to journey with these elemental energies as guides into deeper embodiment, authentic expression and conscious relationship.

Each week we will enter the dance through an elemental Movement Medicine practice, exploring the unique qualities and gifts of a different element. Through movement, music, imagery and embodied ritual we will awaken the Dancer as Alchemist- the part of us that can meet life creatively, transforming challenge into wisdom and experience into medicine.

The dance is a living laboratory where we listen deeply to the body's intelligence, soften habitual patterns, and rediscover the vitality, freedom and wholeness already alive within us.

Following each movement journey, we will transition into an embodied relational exploration inspired by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic + Transpersonal Psychology and Tantric Meditation practices.

Together we will explore what happens when we bring awareness into relationship- with ourselves, another, the group and the wider field of life. Through guided partner practices, meditation, inquiry, witnessing and dialogue, we access presence, curiosity and the capacity to meet ourselves and others with greater honesty, compassion and openness.

This course invites us to direct experience; the emphasis is discovering what becomes possible when we listen deeply and allow ourselves to be moved.

What to Expect

Throughout our journey together we will:

  • Dance with a different element each week as a pathway into embodied awareness and transformation.
  • Explore Movement Medicine-inspired practices that awaken creativity, vitality and the wisdom of the body.
  • Cultivate the Dancer as Alchemist - learn to transform emotional, relational and energetic experience into insight and growth.
  • Engage in embodied relational practices inspired by IFS, Somatic + Transpersonal Psychology and Tantric practice.
  • Develop greater presence, emotional awareness and relational intelligence through solo, partner and group inquiry.
  • Deepen connection with yourself, others and the living world through movement, meditation, ritual and reflection.
  • Open up to feel more alive, connected and resourced.

No previous experience of dance or movement is necessary. You are simply invited to come as you are, with curiosity and a willingness to explore.

About the Approach

This offering is inspired by Movement Medicine and enriched by perspectives from Internal Family Systems, Somatic and Transpersonal Psychology, and Tantric practice.

The weave of these bodies of knowledge provide a rich tapestry of inspiration for an experiential journey that honours and integrates body, psyche, heart and spirit.

The course invites a way of knowing that is lived, where movement becomes meditation, relationship becomes practice, and the body becomes a doorway to greater awareness and freedom.

Working in a Group

There is something profoundly healing about practising in community.

As we move, witness and relate together, we discover that many of our experiences are shared. The group becomes a supportive field where we can explore vulnerability, celebrate authenticity and remember our innate capacity for connection.

This is an invitation to walk the elemental path- to root like Earth, flow like Water, ignite like Fire, breathe like Air and expand into the spaciousness of Ether.
