What is Yoga?
The physical practice of hatha Yoga restores balance and flexibility, strengthens the body, clears the mind, and equips you with effective tools to combat stress. It is suitable for everyone.
What to Expect
In each class we do posture, relaxation, and breathing practice.
My teaching style is influenced by training in bihar/satnayanda yoga, where the goal of the physical practice is to sit comfortably (asana) in meditation. Through personal practice in dynamic ashtanga yoga, there will also be vinyasa elements, where movement is linked with breathing, and the breath is used to guide you through postures.
Practice will be adjusted to your needs; beginners to old-timers, welcome!
Registration
At the start of your first class, you’ll be asked to complete a confidential registration form including any injuries or medical conditions. This is to ensure that you can practise safely and alternatives are offered when necessary.
Yoga during Pregnancy
Pregnant students are very welcome from the start of the second trimester onwards. Please contact me in advance if you are pregnant and would like to join.
What Else Do I Need to Know?
Please arrive a few minutes early. Do not eat heavily before the class. Wear clothing that isn’t restrictive in movement and makes you feel comfortable. Yoga is done in bare feet. Bring something warm to wear, socks, jumper, for relaxation.
All equipment is provided, but please bring your own if you wish.

About the Teacher
Hi! I’m a British Wheel of Yoga accredited teacher, and have been teaching since 2015.
I’m also a mother of two, and my background is in school teaching. Alongside my yoga practice, I also spent time as a runner with the Steel City Striders.
