An Invitation to Play

An Invitation to Play is bringing a new type of play session to Wexford for children aged 6 months to 6 years. Each week there will be a new theme of play that offers appealing invitations to play in a child led environment. These sessions are designed to support a child’s natural curiosity, creativity and desire to learn about their world, through their senses. Each child is free to explore and play at their own pace with the toys and activities on offer. The design of these sessions are inspired by Montessori, Emmi Pikler, Reggio Amelia Approach and Respectful parenting.

Sessions offer open ended materials to support learning and connection through play. Children will get the chance to explore materials such as the Pikler climbing frame, balance boards, balance beams, Connetix tiles, play dough, messy play, small world play and push and pull carts as well as sensory themed play involving pouring and scooping.

This type of child-led play, offers parents a unique opportunity to gain valuable insights into their child’s play and how their child(ren) explore and make sense of their world.
