Blissful Soul - Sound Healing

What’s it all about?
A sound bath is a relaxing, meditative experience, where you lie down comfortably while soothing sounds and vibrations from instruments like singing bowls, gongs and chimes wash over you. These sounds help calm your mind, ease tension in your body and create a deep sense of relaxation. You don’t need to do anything and you don’t need your mind to empty or go quiet. Just wear warm, comfortable clothes, bring a mat, blanket and pillow if you like, and let yourself unwind.

A little bit of the science behind a sound bath…
A sound bath uses various instruments to create therapeutic sound frequencies that promote relaxation and well-being. The vibrations and tones interact with the body and brain, working on multiple levels:

Brainwave Entrainment:
The repetitive and harmonious tones encourage the brain to shift from active beta waves (associated with thinking and alertness) to slower alpha and theta waves. Alpha waves are linked to relaxation, while theta waves are associated with deep meditation and the restorative state experienced just before sleep. This can help reduce stress and anxiety.

Vibrational Resonance:
The human body is made up of energy fields and water, both of which are excellent conductors of vibration. The sound frequencies resonate through the body, potentially helping to release tension, improve energy flow and support physical healing.

Nervous System Regulation:
The calming sounds stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is responsible for rest and recovery. This helps lower heart rate, reduce blood pressure, and promote a sense of safety and relaxation.

Harmonic Balancing:
According to sound healing principles, dissonance in the body can manifest as emotional or physical discomfort. The harmonious frequencies of the instruments can help "retune" the body, restoring balance and alignment.
Sound baths offer a deeply immersive experience where the body and mind are encouraged to relax and align, creating an environment for healing and restoration.
