Bootle Canoe & Outdoor Club CIC

Welcome to Bootle Canoe & Outdoor Club 🛶

A Community on the Water. A Legacy of the Desmond Family Canoe Trail.

Bootle Canoe & Outdoor Club is a proud Community Interest Company (CIC) bringing people together on the beautiful Leeds–Liverpool Canal. We exist to create fun, friendship and positive change along our local waterways.

We launch from the welcoming Lock & Quay Pub, offering free, inclusive paddling sessions for all ages and abilities.

🗓 When We Paddle

🚣 Monthly Saturday Morning Community Paddle
🌅 NEW Evening Paddles on Tuesdays throughout the summer

Whether you’re completely new to canoeing or an experienced paddler, you’ll find a safe, supportive and relaxed space to get on the water.

More Than Just Paddling ☺️

We believe our canal is something to be enjoyed and cared for. Our sessions combine

🚣 Canoeing & kayaking
🌿 Canal clean-ups & litter picks
🤝 Community volunteering
🎉 Special themed and seasonal events

Since 2018, we’ve proudly worked to enhance our stretch of canal alongside the Canal & River Trust and SAFE Regeneration, helping to make our waterways cleaner, greener and more welcoming.

Stronger Together 💪

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We’re proud to work with:

⭐️ Liverpool River of Light
⭐️ Paddle UK
⭐️ Bradbury Fields
⭐️ Galloway’s Society for the Blind
⭐️ Liverpool Canoe Polo & Kayak Club
⭐️ Lock & Quay Pub
⭐️ SAFE Regeneration
⭐️ Julian Taylor Sculpture

We are especially proud to continue delivering our much-loved Canal of Light paddle in partnership with Liverpool River of Light, alongside other annual community events that bring colour, creativity and connection to our waterways.

Together, we’re opening up outdoor adventure to more people across our community.
