Details

Build, code, and bring robots to life! In this hands-on robotics and AI course, students use a BBC micro:bit robotic kit to explore programming, sensors, data, robotics, and machine learning through creative challenges. Students will build interactive projects, program sensors and motors, create games, build and control a rover, train a simple machine-learning model, and work together on a collaborative robotics project.

Each class combines instructor demonstrations, guided coding, hands-on building, creative problem-solving, debugging, teamwork, and Show & Tell. Students finish the course with a Demo Day, where they present and demonstrate what they built.

No prior robotics or coding experience required.

Level: Beginner

Instructions

Important: Students need a computer with Chrome or Microsoft Edge and a BBC micro:bit V2 starter kit. If you need a kit, please select the Class + micro:bit Kit registration option. Please allow sufficient time for the kit to arrive before the first class.

Maker Robotics & AI — Build, Code & Teach Your Robot

Build, create, experiment, and solve real-world challenges with micro:bit robotics and AI! This is more than a coding class. Students develop creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and presentation skills through hands-on engineering projects.Students will create interactive LED projects and games, explore sensors and real-world data, build and program a line-following rover, train a simple machine-learning model, and collaborate with teammates to design a connected system. Throughout the course, students test ideas, debug their designs, share their work, and learn to explain their thinking. The course ends with a Demo Day, where students present their projects and demonstrate what they built to an audience. No prior robotics experience required.
