i-HOP is the national information service for all professionals working with offenders’ children and their families.

Join us on Monday 20th March 2017 for the national launch of our Practitioner's Guide. This practical resource will inform professionals of the impact of a family member’s offending on the whole family and equip them to provide effective community-based interventions from assessment onwards.

Each delegate will receive a copy of the guide packed with practical tips, visual tools and resource lists to guide practice with offenders’ children and their parents/carers.
Speakers:

  • Sam Monaghan, Corporate Director of Children's Services, Barnardo's
  • Lindsay Sutherland & Polly Wright, i-HOP
  • Anne Fox, CEO of Clinks
  • Sarah Beresford, POPS Advisory Board, previously Families Outside
  • Contributions from a young person and a carer affected by a family member's offending

There will be four practice-focused seminars in the afternoon for delegates to choose from:

  • Assessing offenders' families' needs and planning community-based support
  • Therapeutic approaches to work with offenders' children
  • The use of peer support and mentoring with young people affected by a family member's offending
  • Multi-agency working between prisons and community-based services for offenders' families

The event will be held at Birmingham Council House, Victoria Square, Birmingham B1 1BB from 10.00am until 15.00pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
