These ‘in person’ classes are bookable in half-termly blocks only and limited to 8 women and their babies to ensure that Social Distancing guidelines are adhered to.
Birthlight Mum & Baby Yoga uses original sets of yoga practices that are uniquely suited to help you regain your core-strength, emotional well-being and overall fitness after birth by restoring tone to the deep muscles of the pelvis, abdomen and lower back. Classes can be joined following your 8-week postnatal check up until your baby is walking. Within the class you will work towards ‘closing’ the body, re-knitting abdominal muscles and building strength and stamina. Mum & Baby Yoga sessions use Pranayama (yoga breathing) which calms the mind, induces better sleep and reduces postnatal fatigue. These Postnatal Yoga practices are suitable for women however their babies have been born. Attendees will create a new foundation for better physical and emotional well-being at the same time as being energised from within. Babies are included in these classes with ‘active bonding’ in age appropriate ways during the early weeks and months. It is a great way to gradually build a new foundation for better fitness at the same time as enjoying 1:1 time with your baby through play and rhymes. More dynamic yoga postures are gradually incorporated to make a safe transition to general yoga or other forms of exercise with long term benefits for women’s health.

Dress comfortably and bring some water with you. I am able to provide an equipment ‘pack’ exclusive to you and your baby at the first session – this will include a yoga mat, block, blanket, cushion, 2 coloured scarves. I will be asking you to clean them at the end of the session and then will store them in a bag with your name on ready for the next week. You might like to bring a pashmina or scarf, a mat or blanket for your baby and a few toys. Plus anything else you can think of that will help make your session a positive experience!

Block of 7 sessions - numbers limited due to Covid-19 restrictions and therefore must be booked in advance. If you are unable to attend I am unable to offer refunds due to hire/cleaning costs and number restrictions, however you can attend another class via Zoom free of charge by contacting me directly.
