This is a Drop off Forest School day for children aged 4-11yrs who are Home Educated.
We have a beautifully private woodland with plenty of space where the children have the opportunity to play and explore freely in mud kitchens, bug hotels, on tree swings, balance beams and straplines, in hammocks and in other dedicated play areas.
Each week we offer different 'Invitations to Activities' (as we call them) and these are planned using the children's own interests, the season and natural resources around us. The children also have the opportunity of following The WILD Passport which is a programme that builds up competency in the following skills areas: Woodcraft (using tools), Shelter, Fire, Rope and Nature.
We offer opportunities for Mindfulness with Forest Bathing and also opportunities to reflect on our day too.
In this new term, we are planning to do some outdoor cooking.
WHAT TO WEAR
Dress appropriately for the outdoors and the weather; we still experience cool weather in Early Spring so please ensure that the children have sufficient layers, water proof trousers and coats. As we head into the warmer months it is essential that the children have a hat and that scream is applied before they arrive to Forest School.
WHAT TO BRING
A change of clothes, a packed lunch, snacks and drinks. We have drinking water to refresh water bottles.
