Details

Lauri Maitland has a background in traditional painting. Upon discovering her passion for fused glass she has spent exhaustive hours honing her techniques for painting on large, multi-layered fused glass. Lauri is happy to share her vast knowledge with you.

In this very full day of painting you will learn techniques for applying the paint to glass, shading, layering the glass, avoiding bubbles, and maintaining vivid colour. Lauri has created this original design of a bicycle in the countryside. She will teach you the step by step process to creating this scene. Absolutely no skill in painting is required. However, once you challenge yourself through this project you will have the ability to paint countless other images. Each student will create a four layer 5"x7" piece. To cut down on time and cost, the option of cold working the edges or framing in a 5x7 shadow box is left up to each student; options will be discussed in class.

A one hour lunch break will allow time for students to pop out to Carleton Place to get something to eat or bring a packed lunch to eat in the sunroom. Light refreshments will be provided throughout the day.

Cancellation Policy:For cancellations more than 4 weeks ahead of the course date 90% refund or alternative course booking. For cancellations within four weeks of the course date 50% refund. No refund will be given for cancellations within 7 days of the course.
