Details

Gestural intuitive marks all made by you. What is your mark?

This is an exciting and very liberating method of creating beautiful art.

Join accomplished calligrapher and abstract artist Karen Wynne Mackay for a morning of discovery. Work on paper with handmade and machine made tools, ink, gesso and paint -explore your creative mark making side.

We will have a break for lunch (weather permitting) by the river. Please bring your lunch or you can pop out to Carleton Place for something (fifteen minute drive from the studio). Complimentary beverages are provided.

Then in the afternoon you will discover how to translate your mark making into glass. Each student will create two 4"x6" glass art pieces that sit in a cork wood base. These are unique sculptural pieces that look wonderful in natural light or with a candle. We will use powdered glass, hand pulled glass, and crushed glass with a variety of tools.
