Weitere Informationen

Please read through the following information to help you prepare for your day with us.

Before You Arrive: Health & Safety Form

All participants must complete a short Health & Safety Form before attending. Please fill it in here as soon as possible to ensure a smooth check-in on the day.

It only takes a minute and ensures everyone stays safe around the kilns and firing area.

Course Details

  • Date: Saturday, 22nd November
  • Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm (includes a 1-hour lunch break)
  • Lunch: Included (vegetarian light lunch and refreshments provided)

The day will include glazing, kiln loading, open-air Raku firing, and post-firing reduction.

You’ll be working outdoors for parts of the day, so please dress warmly and appropriately for the weather.

We’ll be running several kiln loads throughout the day — approximately six firings in total (four small and two large), accommodating around 40 pieces in total.

What to Bring

To make sure everyone’s work fits safely, please bring up to three bisque-fired pieces each that meet the following guidelines:

  • Size: Approximately 15–20 cm high and 10–12 cm wide (small to medium pieces)
  • Clay Type: Raku clay only — please do not bring earthenware, as it cannot withstand Raku firing temperatures
  • Condition: Pieces must be fully bisque-fired, clean, dry, and free from cracks or moisture

If you don’t have bisque ware ready, please let us know in advance — we can arrange a few spare pieces for you to glaze on the day at £10 per pot

You’ll also need to bring:

  • Apron or old shirt
  • Closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip-flops)
  • Optional: notebook or sketchbook
