Lovebird Studios takes care to ensure all firing and handling is done by trained staff. However, Raku is an unpredictable process, and minor technical imperfections, smoke marks, or small cracks are all part of its natural beauty — and cannot be fully controlled or guaranteed.

All participants must complete a short Health & Safety Form before attending. Please fill it in here as soon as possible to ensure a smooth check-in on the day.
It only takes a minute and ensures everyone stays safe around the kilns and firing area.
The day will include glazing, kiln loading, open-air Raku firing, and post-firing reduction.
You’ll be working outdoors for parts of the day, so please dress warmly and appropriately for the weather.
We’ll be running several kiln loads throughout the day — approximately six firings in total (four small and two large), accommodating around 40 pieces in total.
To make sure everyone’s work fits safely, please bring up to three bisque-fired pieces each that meet the following guidelines:
If you don’t have bisque ware ready, please let us know in advance — we can arrange a few spare pieces for you to glaze on the day at £10 per pot

Enter through the electric gate on Pigdown Lane, turn right into the yard, and park in the designated area in front of the barn.
Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can begin promptly at 10:00 am.
You’ll receive a short safety briefing before the firing begins. Please follow staff instructions at all times, especially when near the hot kilns.
All required safety equipment — including gloves, goggles, and long tongs — will be provided.
