Instructor: Natalie Hinahara
In this workshop you will learn the mind-bending and rewarding process of reduction block printing. As you progressively build your image by printing layers of color, the block itself is continually reduced. You will learn how to prepare artwork, transfer the artwork to the block, use carving tools safely, and print by hand. At the end of the day you'll be able to trade prints with your workshop mates and take an edition of your prints home. Feel free to bring an idea or simple sketch to be transferred onto a 6"x8" block. No printmaking experience is necessary but participants must be comfortable using sharp tools and working independently.
