About TLEPN Peer Support Training
All TLEPN courses are taught by highly trained instructors and subject matter experts dedicated to strengthening wellness and resilience within the law enforcement community. The TLEPN Peer Support Certification Course (TCOLE eligible) provides a comprehensive foundation in peer support principles, effective listening and communication techniques, crisis response and de-escalation, and officer wellness. Participants learn about confidentiality requirements and legal protections outlined in SB 64 and TCOLE rules, as well as best practices for conducting Critical Incident Debriefings and delivering follow-on support. The course also covers referral pathways, resource navigation, ethical responsibilities, and an understanding of cumulative stress, trauma, and suicide risk. Upon completion, attendees gain access to the statewide TLEPN platform, peer directory, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

Training Expectations
To ensure the highest level of professionalism and learning, full attendance is required to receive TCOLE credit. Participants should bring a device or notebook for in-class activities and are expected to wear business-casual attire or their departmental uniform. Agencies are encouraged to send multiple personnel to strengthen their internal peer support capabilities. All logistical details—including location, parking, materials, and any preparation needed—will be sent via email upon registration.

Course Policies
All registrations are reviewed individually, and participants may receive a follow-up message if additional information or clarification is needed. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration as soon as possible so your seat may be offered to another agency. TLEPN reserves the right to adjust class sizes based on regional demand, instructor availability, and training capacity to ensure each session meets our program’s quality standards.
