Contraction as Therapy

If Part I was about softening, this session is about stabilizing.

In yoga we learn to release tension.
Here, you’ll learn how to use tension safely.

Healing isn’t only relaxation — it’s the ability to contract with control.

This workshop focuses on breath-supported stabilization to improve joint support, spinal strength, and pain resilience. Participation in Part I is not required to benefit from this session.

You’ll learn how to:

• Create healthy core pressure
• Stabilize your spine during effort
• Support deep ranges safely
• Contract without bracing in fear
• Reduce discomfort during exertion

This is not aggressive strength training. It is controlled, therapeutic loading designed to build structural confidence.

Attendee Preparation Guidelines

To get the most benefit from this workshop, please follow these simple steps.

60–90 Minutes Before Class

Have a light snack that includes protein + Vitamin C.

Easy options:
• Collagen in lemon water
• Greek yogurt with berries
• Eggs with bell peppers

Keep it simple. No heavy meals.

Hydrate Intentionally

Please arrive well hydrated.

Add a pinch of sea salt and lemon to your water, or use a simple electrolyte mix.

Do not arrive fasted, depleted, or overly caffeinated.

Bring

• Yoga mat
• Water
• Small towel
• Any braces/supports you normally use

Avoid

• Heavy meals right before class
• Alcohol the night before
• Aggressive stretching beforehand
