Our School in the Woods

Our School in the Woods offers nature-inspired outdoor learning to 5-12 year-old children (school years 1-7). Our approach is to make learning fun, hands on and to use the natural resources on offer in the woods. The key skills of numeracy and literacy will be applied to diverse projects that may involve learning about the lives of local wildlife, reading a map, understanding climate change, local history or acting out a play. Gathering in daily circles, we eat, chat, tell stories, sing and reflect together. We aim to provide a loving environment in which each child's innate desire to learn is encouraged to thrive.
