Young Sailors - Waterfun!

Wembley Sailing Club is offering an exciting programme of sailing courses for young people.

It introduces complete beginners to the basic concepts of sailing. Throughout the week, sailors will work towards the RYA Stage 1 qualification and the start of the RYA Stage 2 qualification. For this age group particular focus will be on building confidence on the water and a love of sailing. By the end of the week, participants will have developed skills in sailing, and higher confidence in outdoors adventure.

Our courses are focused on Safe, Fun and Learning! We incorporate the RYA Onboard scheme into our sailing programmes, backed by research to improve confidence, intuition and teamwork skills, helping children to thrive both on and off the water.

Our sessions are led by fully qualified, DBS-checked instructors, who create a safe and supportive environment where your child can explore their potential, build resilience, and make lasting friendships.

Assumed knowledge: No or little sailing experience.

RYA Stage 1 content: Launching and recovery a dinghy, Paddling games, teamwork building, parts of the boat and basic sailing manoeuvres.

RYA Stage 2 content: Basic sailing skills, tacking, controlling boat speed, rope-work and collision avoidance.

All courses run from 09:30 to 16:30.
