Young Sailors Course
Details
Wembley Sailing Club is offering an exciting programme of sailing courses for young people.
It introduces complete beginners to the basic concepts of sailing. Throughout the week, sailors will work towards the RYA Stage 1 qualification and the start of the RYA Stage 2 qualification. For this age group particular focus will be on building confidence on the water and a love of sailing. By the end of the week participants will have a range of sailing skills and knowledge and will be well on the way to being a confident and independent sailor.
Assumed knowledge: No or little sailing experience.
RYA Stage 1 content: Launching and recovery a dinghy, parts of the boat and basic sailing manoeuvres.
RYA Stage 2 content: Basic sailing skills, tacking, controlling boat speed, rope-work and collision avoidance.
All courses run from 09:30 to 16:30.
