“Restorative yoga reminds us that don't have to do more than feel complete. Enough might look like reclining with support. And letting gravity hold you."
It’s that time of year again when life gets busy, and I invite you to slow down. Yes, the holiday season is upon us and we find ourselves rushing around ticking off the to do lists.
Join me in my annual winter warmer restorative yoga evening where you are encouraged to rest, restore, and reset. This restorative yoga practice is deeply nourishing and extremely gentle, offering you the opportunity to pause and find stillness.
We will use props to support the body, inviting muscles to completely relax and let go of tension. The practice of restorative yoga stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system which slows the heart rate, regulates blood pressure and relaxes the body.
Super gentle, supported postures are held for several minutes, making this practice accessible to everyone who can get on and off the floor without too much difficulty.
The practice will consist of a handful of poses that are held for 5 minutes or more. We'll get in the pose, make it comfortable, relax into it and just do nothing for a while, making the perfect way to nourish, and reset, the body and mind. We could all benefit from a little "me time" and self care.
Props can include, blankets, bolsters, pillows, eye pillows, cushions, blocks, books, the more the better, get creative!
Create a comfortable space for your practice. Put on some ambient lighting. If you prefer to practice with music you may want to put on a little music in the background. Here is a link to one of my playlists if you'd like to use it,
