Join our Woodland Stay and Play Group for preschool and primary aged children!
Have a fun time playing outdoors enjoying activities such as; mud kitchen, digging zone, construction role play, minibeast hunting, exploration and swings. A different craft each week, usually linked to the seasons. Seasonal activities and resources appear as the seasons change.
The highlight is the fire where children can have a hot chocolate and toast a marshmallow. Adults are offered a hot drink and biscuits.
The sessions will run in all weather's except when there are high winds or severe snow or ice.
Bookings are non-refundable or transferable except when cancelled by Green Explorers.
During the group, parents/carers have responsibility for their child/ren, please follow safety instructions from the group leader (Claire) to keep everyone safe. Activities available are suitable for the age range of children attending, but parents/carers should assist their child/ren based on their abilities throughout.
Make sure everyone attending has suitable footwear and clothing for the days weather.
Waterproofs and wellies are required on wet days.
On warmer days, closed toe footwear is recommended and trousers/long sleeves are advised to protect against branches and plants such as nettles.
Bring plenty of layers including spare gloves in colder weather.

The group is aimed for walking children to primary school age (aproximately 1-11 years). Up to 2 adults per child can attend for free, pre-walking babies attend for free (no ticket required). If your only child is not yet walking but you would like to come along, please select the pre-walking baby and adult ticket below.

This ticket is for additional children attending with the same adult as the first child. Pre-walking babies attending with other children are free of charge and do not require a ticket.

Please park on Whitechapel Road and walk through the school car park to access the woodland. Follow the Green Explorers signs to the green metal gate, along the track you will find the entrance to the woods on the left.
