Who are Harding Music?

We are a family-run, local business with a love for all things music. It inspires everything that we are about and nothing excites us more than the opportunity to share music with others. Husband and wife team, Emily and Paul Harding, work within various fields within the music industry, namely education, creation (follow Paul’s band Cappello @CappelloMusic), and performance (@thecrescendosband, @yorkshireviolinist, @fernquartet). Harding Music were awarded "Top 3 Music Schools in the Halifax area" by ThreeBestRated.co.uk in December 2022.

About the Tutor: Emily Harding

Emily teaches 1:1 and small-group music lessons, and hosts a wide-variety of courses and workshops at her teaching base in Brighouse. The Nook, 16 Church Lane, HD6 1AT within @goeducateuk @page.bookshop
As a fully-qualified (with QTS) and experienced music teacher - both in classroom-based curriculum music and instrumental teaching with numerous schools and music services across the north of England - she is truly passionate about learning.
She offers lessons on violin, viola, piano, electric keyboard, recorder, beginner ukulele, as well as music theory lessons and support for exam preparation.

Qualifications & Teaching Experience:

BMus (hons) in Music [The University of Huddersfield],
PGCE (cert.) in Secondary Music with Specialist Instrumental Teaching (Upper Strings) [RNCM]
Musicianship training from the British Kodály Association
Mental Health First Aid training from MHFA England.
DBS-checked with extensive, up-to-date safeguarding, e-safety, PREVENT, and GDPR training. Former secondary school music teacher, former Head of Junior Music at The Grammar School at Leeds, former peripatetic music teachers with Trafford Music Service, Musica Kirklees and Derbyshire Music Partnership.

Performing Experience:

Emily has extensive performing experience in a wide variety of styles, across a number of countries and within notable ensembles.
She was the Orchestral Leader of the Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra (2013-2019), is the first violinist in The Fern Quartet (@fernquartet), is a member of the rock/pop/Motown events band The Crescendos and gets booked regularly to perform with high-end group ‘Storm Electric String Ensemble’. She has recently worked with the BBC, Cliff Richard and Andrea Corr.
