Be part of the Wellbeing Walks programme and discover how to lead walkers on a safe and enjoyable walk. Find out how walking gives us all such health benefits and also gives us peace of mind. Meet other like minded people and discover how sociable walking can be. Each course is designed specifically for potential and existing volunteer Walks Leaders and will guide them to develop the skills and confidence needed to plan and lead inspiring group walks. Both new and existing walk leaders are welcome to attend – no prior knowledge or experience is necessary.
The aims of the day are:
Please note there is no expectation for you to lead a walk straight away, if you would like to start off as a back marker and work towards leading a walk we would love to support you to do this. The trainers would be happy to provide further support and encouragement to help you get started.
The course will start promptly at 9.30am and we hope to be finished by 4pm. Your course leaders are Jill Shuker and John Mace.
Refreshments (tea & coffee) will be available but please bring your own lunch. A walk will be part of the day, so please do bring suitable comfortable outdoor shoes and clothing. We look forward to meeting you and having an enjoyable day.
