The modern world of work presents many challenges on both the organisational and individual level. Factors such as the pandemic, increased remote working and ongoing technological advances have fundamentally transformed the way we work, and the challenges we face. Working in a rapidly changing working environment can lead many people to experience higher levels of stress.
Psychological research has taken an interest in how people develop resilience when facing changes in the work environment and stressful circumstances. Resilience allows us to adapt to changes in our environment. Through thinking more flexibly, and coping effectively with stress, resilient workers have been able to grow professionally and personally when facing adversity.
Drawing from psychological research and literature, the workshop facilitators will introduce strategies for developing resilience. These strategies will be aimed at coping effectively with stress, responding positively to setbacks, and developing a greater capacity for self-care. The workshop aims to support organisations and individuals to create working environments that cultivate resilience and enhance wellbeing. While the modern working world poses many challenges, resilience is a skill which we can all develop, and which will allow us to react more effectively when things are at their most difficult.
