A pre-course online theory webinar will be delivered prior to the workshop on Monday 30th March 6/7pm.
This two-day workshop focuses on Paul Bunker’s buried hide protocol, designed to help dogs understand and confidently locate deeply buried odour. The workshop will develop handler understanding of odour behaviour, improve timing and observation skills, and support dogs to commit clearly to inaccessible source.
You will learn how to introduce and progress buried hides using a structured, proven methodology, observe dogs working at different stages, and understand how to support progression without creating confusion or frustration.
Suitable for detection sport handlers, SAR and operational teams, and instructors looking to develop their understanding of buried hide work. Working dogs must already be trained on their target odour and marker system.
Working spaces are limited to 8 teams. Audit spaces allow full observation of all theory and practical work across both days.
