Early Pregnancy Antenatal Class
Who can attend?
Expectant mothers up to 20 weeks of pregnancy. Partners or support person are also welcome.
What will I learn?
- Changes that occur to the body during pregnancy and ways to cope with some of the discomforts associated with these changes.
- Emotional and mental health issues in pregnancy and supports available.
- What is not normal and when to seek medical help.
- Information on antenatal care and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle to support a healthy pregnancy and baby. This includes information on healthy eating , exercise and back care, and
lifestyle changes. - Information on any aspect of pregnancy you would like.
Benefits of Participation
An important part of the care received during pregnancy is gaining information. Information is empowering and will help you make an informed choice about your pregnancy and birth. The early pregnancy class is facilitated by a multidisciplinary team who are available to support you through your pregnancy journey. This includes a Midwife, Physiotherapist, Social worker , Dietitian and Perinatal Mental Health Midwife. You will have an opportunity to ask questions and express any concerns you may have.
